Chap. 382.—An ACT to regulate the sale of cider in Loudoun county.
Approved February 15, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to sell or offer for sale, in the county of
Loudoun, as a beverage, or in any quantity less than a barrel of the
minimum capacity of thirty gallons, cider of any description.
2. Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not
less than five dollars nor more than fifty dollars for each offense, and
may, at the discretion of the justice or court trying the same, be confined
in jail not exceeding thirty days: provided, however, that this act shall
not be construed as prohibiting persons from selling by the drink sweet
cider of their own make on the occasion of any public sale or other public
gathering, except religious or temperance meetings, for a period not ex-
cecding two days at any such sale or gathering.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
