Chap. 38.—An ACT for the relief of the personal representatives and deputies
of James C. Haynes, late treasurer of Montgomery county.
Approved January ll, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the per-
sonal representative of James C. Haynes, late treasurer of Montgomery
county, may, when appointed, collect all uncollected taxes, levies and
assessments for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-four and subse-
quent years, provided he has settled with the board of supervisors and
the auditor of public accounts, except the year eighteen hundred and
ninety-nine, which were in the hands of said James C. Haynes or his
deputies, at the time of his death; the time for levying, distraining for
and collecting the same being hereby extended.
2. Such personal representative may, with the advice and consent of
the county court of said county, or of the judge thereof in vacation,
appoint one or more deputies to collect said taxes, levies and assessments.
3. Such personal representative and deputies shall have all the rights
and powers for collecting said taxes, levies and assessments that county
treasurers and their deputies now have for collecting taxes, levies and
assessments, and such rights and powers shall continue until the first
day of July, nineteen hundred and one.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
