Chap. 343.—An ACT for the protection of partridges or quails, pheasants or
ruffed grouse, wild turkeys, woodcock, and hares in the counties of Caro-
line, Hanover, and Henrico.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall
be unlawful for any person to kill or capture, or offer for sale, or buy
any partridges (or quails), or any pheasants or ruffled grouse, wild
turkevs, woodcock, or hares in the counties of Caroline, Hanover, and
Henrico between the first day of February and the first day of November.
2. Any person violating this act shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and shall for each offense be fined ten dollars or imprisoned in
jail thirty days, or both, in the discretion of the Justice.
3. So much of section two thousand and seventy-nine of the code as
amended, as is in conflict with this act, and all other acts or parts of
acts in conflict with this act are hereby repealed. Lo
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
