Chap. 340.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Elizabeth City
county to let the repairs and improvements to the county roads of the said
county by contract.

Approved February 14, 1900.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of Elizabeth City county be, and they are hereby, empow-
ered and authorized to let such repairs and improvements to the public
roads of the said county as they may deem necessary, by contract, with
either private individuals, firms, or corporations for such time or times
(not exceeding one year), and upon such terms and conditions as the
said board may think fit and proper. And the said board of supervisors
are hereby empowered to execute such contracts and do all other things
which they, in their discretion, may think fit and proper, to insure faith-
ful performance of duty from said party, firm, or corporation under
this act.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
