Chap. 304.—An ACT to protect the Mongolian and the cross between the Mon
golian and the English pheasant in the counties of Louisa, Albemarle
Loudoun, Fauquier, Alleghany, Bath, Highland, Culpeper, Prince Willian
Bedford, Augusta, and Montgomery, and the city of Charlottesville.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it sha
be unlawful to take or destroy the eggs of, or to kill or capture, sell o
offer for sale, or buy any Mongolian, or cross between the English an
Mongolian pheasant, in the county of Louisa, Albemarle, Loudour
Fauquier, Alleghany, Bath, Highland, Culpeper, Prince William, Bec
ford, Augusta, and Montgomery, and the city of Charlottesville.
2. The possession, except for breeding purposes, of any Mongoliar
or cross between the English and Mongolian pheasant, whether dead o
alive, by any person shall be prima facie evidence that such person ha
violated this law.
3. Any person convicted of violating this law shall be fined not le:
than ten ($10.00) dolars, and five ($5.00) dollars in addition shall b
taxed, as part of the costs, which said five dollars shall go to the ir
former.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
