Chap. 302.—An ACT to compensate school trustees, other than clerks of dis-
trict boards in Craig county and members of the county school board of
said county.
In effect February 9, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the dis-
trict school boards of Craig county may, in their discretion, compensate
the school trustees, other than clerks of their respective district school
boards, not exceeding one dollar per day for each day of service actually
rendered in discharge of their duties, payable out of the district school
funds: provided, that no trustee as aforesaid shall receive more than
eight dollars in any one year for such service.
2. That the county school board of said county may, in its discretion,
compensate school trustees, other than the clerk of the county school
board, not exceeding one dollar per day and mileage one way from their
homes to place of meeting, at the rate of five cents per mile, for actual
attendance upon meetings of the county school board payable out of the
county school fund: provided, that no trustee shall receive more than
four dollars in any one year for services rendered on county school
board.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
