Chap. 287.—An ACT to authorize the town of Berryville to execute a deed of
trust on the water-works of said town for the purpose of providing addi-
tional security for the payment of the principal and interest of bonds of said
town to an amount not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That for the
purpose of providing additional security for the payment of the prin-
cipal and interest of bonds of the town of Berryville authorized by an
act entitled “an act to authorize the town of Berryville to borrow
twenty-five thousand dollars to construct water-works for said town,”
approved December eighteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-nine, as
amended and re-enacted by an act approved January twenty-ninth.
nineteen hundred, the town council of said town may by resolution or
ordinance authorize a deed of trust to be made to a trustee for the
holders of said bonds, which deed of trust shall cover and be a lien upon
the water-works of said town and all the property and franchises neces-
sary and incidental to the use and operation thereof now owned or which
may hereafter be acquired by said town.
2, Said deed of trust shall be in the usual form, and shall be signed
and acknowledged by the mavor and recorded and filed in the office of
the clerk of the county court of Clarke county.
3. This act shall take effect from its passage.
