Chap. 286.—An ACT to authorize school district number 1 in the county of
Tazewell, a corporation, to allow a monument to the Confederate dead to be
erected, maintained, and cared for on the grounds connected with and a
part of the Tazewell high school property.

Approved February 6, 1900.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That “ school
district number one, in the county of Tazewell,” a corporation, be, and
they are hereby, authorized and empowered, to permit the erection of
a monument to the Confederate dead of said county on the ground
connected with and a part of the school property known as Tazewell
high school, and to permit the same to be maintained and cared for;
and to carry out such purpose the said corporation is hereby authorized
and empowered to enter all necessary orders for the purpose.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
