Chap. 274.—An ACT authorizing the sureties of Joshua G. Bray, ex-deputs
treasurer of Gloucester county, to levy and distrain for the collection o
certain uncollected tax tickets in Abingdon district.

Whereas Joshua G. Bray, ex-deputy treasurer for Abingdon district
in Gloucester county, has in his hands uncollected tax tickets for th
vears eighteen hundred and ninety-four, eighteen hundred and ninety
five, and eighteen hundred and ninety-six, for which his sureties, W. F
Hogg, James M. Carmines, William F. Luke, and Fannie Bray hay
accounted to W. K. Perrin, treasurer of said county, and for which sai
treasurer has accounted to the state and county; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the sai
sureties, or such person as they may employ for the purpose, shall hav
the same power of levy and distress as is now possessed by treasurer
under the revenue laws of Virginia, to collect said uncollected ta
tickets. This right shall continue for one year from the passage ao
this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
