Chap. 212.—An ACT for the protection of gathe in Bedford county.
Approved January 30, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shal]
not be lawful for any person to kill or capture partridges (or quail) in
the county of Bedford between the fifteenth day of January and the
first day of November of each year.
2. It shall not be lawful to kill or capture wild turkeys in said county
between the fifteenth day of March and the first day of November of
each year.
3. It shall not he lawful at any time to take or destroy the eggs of
partridges (or quail), pheasants or wild turkeys, or to catch them in nets
or traps.
4. Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof before any court or justice
of the peace, shall be fined twenty dollars, and imprisoned in jail until
said fine is paid, not to exceed thirty days. The possession of any game
or eggs of any game mentioned in this act, shall be prima facie evidence
of the violation of this statute.
5. In so far as any existing acts or parts of acts are inconsistent with
this act, they are herebv repealed.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
