Chap. 176.—An ACT to compensate school trustees, other than clerks of
district school boards, in Culpeper county, and also to compensate the
clerk and members of the county school board.
In effect January 25, 1900. -
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That from the
school term ending July thirty-first, nineteen hundred, and annually
thereafter, the clerks of the several district school boards in the county
of Culpeper shall certify to the superintendent of public schools of the
said county, at the annual meeting in August of each year, the attend-
ance of the members, other than the said clerks themselves, at the called
meetings and at the regular monthly meetings of the several district
school boards, which certificates, if found correct, and approved by the
county superintendent of schools, shall entitle the trustees to one dollar
and fifty cents each for such attendance at said called meetings and

recular meetings, pavable out of the district school fund upon a warrant
issued by the clerk of the district school board and the county super-
intendent of schools: provided, however, that no trustee as aforesaid shall
receive more than twelve dollars in any one year for such public schoo!

That the county school board of said county may, in its diseretion.

attendance on meetings of the county school boards: and the clerk of the
suid board may, in its discretion, be compensated at the rate of three
dollars per dav for actual attendance and all services as clerk of the
county school board.
