An Act to amend and reenact § 46.1-299, as amended, of the Code of Virginia, relating to devices signalling intention to turn or stop and rules therefor.
Volume 1968 Law 99
Law Body
Chap. 1485.—An ACT for the relief of Jacob Yearout, a private Confederate
soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Jacob Yearout, a private Confederate soldier, of company
A, twenty-fourth Virginia regiment of volunteers, was a true and
gallant soldier during the war; was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disability—to wit:
Infirmitive of old age; disability from the effects of a wound received
on the fifth of May, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, and disease pro-
duced by exposure, producing rheumatism, from all of which causes
he is totally disabled to support himself by manual labor; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Montgomery shall examine into the condition of the
above-named Jacob Yearout, a Confederate soldier; and should it be
that he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war; and that he
is now afflicted, and is totally unfitted and incapacitated for manual
labor; and that he is needy and poor, and should receive aid from
Virginia; and if the county court of Montgomery should send a cer-
tificate of the facts to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then
the auditor of public accounts is directed to place the name of the
said Jacob Yearout upon the pension list, and pay him annually the
sum of fifteen dollars on and after the first day of April, nineteen
hundred. ;
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
