Chap. 1478.—An ACT for the relief of John D. Wright, an ex-Confederate
soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas John D. Wright, an ex-Confederate soldier of Bedford
county, while a member of hirkpatrick’s battery, during a two vears’
service in the civil war, became broken in health and was honorably
discharged; and
Whereas his health has since rendered him dependent on public
charity for a livelihood, and incapacitated him for labor; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That when
the judge of the county court certifies to the auditor of public accounts
that the statements contained in the preamble of this act are true,
then the said auditor is hereby direced to place the name of said John
D. Wright on the pension list with those receiving fifteen dollars per
year, and pay him annually that amount.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
