1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
eight of an act entitled an act to incorporate the southside railway and
development company, approved March third, eighteen hundred and
ninety-eight, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 8. The principal office of the company shall be in the city of Peters-
burg, but it may establish branch offices in other sections of the state
wherever it may be convenient or necessary for the use of the company
and the conduct of its business.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
