Chap. 1436.—An ACT for the relief of Hamilton Jennelle.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Hamilton Jennelle, a disabled Confederate soldier of fourth
regiment of Virginia infantry, was a true and gallant soldier during
the whole war; was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disabilities—to-wit:
Seriously crippled with rheumatism and is infirm; that he is depend-
ent and in a helpless condition, unable to perform manual labor and
has not walked unassisted for twenty years; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Montgomery county shall examine into the condition of
the above-named Hamilton Jennelle, a Confederate soldier, and should
it be that he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war, and that
he is now afflicted and in a scriously crippled condition from rheuma-
tism, and incapacitated from manual labor, that he is needy and poor,
and should receive aid from Virginia, and if the county court of Mont-
gomery should send a certificate of the facts to the auditor of public
accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts is directed to
place the name of Hamilton Jennelle on the pension list and pay him
annually the sum of fifteen dollars on, and after the first day of April,
nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
