Chap. 1434.—An ACT for the relief of Marcus W. Beal, a Confederate soldier.

Whereas Marcus W. Beal, of Henry county, was a true and gallant
Confederate soldier of company I, forty-second Virginia regiment, and
was wounded in his left hip at the battle of Chancellorsville, which
wound very much disables him from following his occupation of farm.
ng or doing any other manual labor; and
Whereas the said Marcus W. Beal is poor and needy and was a citizer
of this state at the time he enlisted and now resides therein; therefore
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upor
roof of the foregoing facts before the county court of Henry county;
and the certificate of the same to the auditor of public accounts, the
said auditor shall place the name of the said Marcus W. Beal upon th
pension roll of the state and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars
on and after the first day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
