Chap. 1432.—An ACT for the relief of J W. Adams, a Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas J. W. Adams was a true and loyal soldier in the military
service of the Confederate states, of the fourteenth North Carolina
volunteers, company G; and
Whereas the said Adams has resided in Virginia all his life, except
during the four years of the Confederate war; and
Whereas the said Adams is entirely disabled from manual labor on
account of discase contracted and exposure sustained during the war
and from disease and exposure since the war, and is without property
or income or means of livelihood; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon
proof of the foregoing facts before the county court of Pittsylvania
county, where the said Adams resides, and certificate of same by said
court to the auditor of public accounts, said auditor shall place the
name of said J. W. Adams upon the pension roll, and there shall annu-
ally be paid to said Adams out of the treasury, upon the warrant of said
auditor, the sum of fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
