Chap. 1419.—An ACT for the relief of Joseph Galloway, of Lee county.

Whereas Joseph Galloway, of Lee county, was a true and gallant sol-
dier during the war between the states; was loval to Virginia; was a
member of General Floyd’s command, and was wounded in the left
leg in the battle of Fort Donaldson; and
Whereas said wound partially healed and said Galloway continued
in the Confederate service, and after the close of the war for many
years supported himself by physical labor, but his left leg having be-
come worse, rendering him totally disabled, and for the past two years
he has been an inmate of the poor-house of Lee county, totally disabled
from working and in destitute circumstances; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to place the name of Joseph Galloway, of the county of Lee, on the
list of Confederate soldiers whose disabilities are total and who are
entitled to receive fifteen dollars per year, pursuant to an act of the
general assembly of Virginia, approved March fifth, eighteen hundred
and eighty-eight.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
