Chap. 1410.—An ACT for the relief of Daniel 8S. Hughes, a disabled Confed-
erate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Daniel
S. Hughes, a Confederate veteran of the Goochland artillery, John N.
Guy captain, who it is alleged, while in the discharge of his duties as
such soldier, received a gunshot wound at the battle of Sailor’s creek,
Virginia, by which he lost the use of his left arm and from which and
the effects of which he is now incapacitated from manual labor, be,
and he is hereby, authorized to appear before the county court of his
county, and present proof of his said disability, and if the disability
shall be proved to be either partial or total, the same shall be certified
by the court to the auditor of public accounts; and he shall list the
said Hughes for a pension of fifteen dollars as the certificate shall
be for partial or total disability: provided, however, that the said
Hughes shall make oath as to the value of his estate or income provided
for by the general pension act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
