Chap. 1408.—An ACT for the relief of Mrs. Lucy A. Walton, widow of a
Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Richmond T. Walton, a member of company B, nineteenth
Virginia infantry, was a true and gallant Confederate soldier and loyal
to Virginia throughout the war; and
Whereas the said Richmond TT. Walton died a short time ago, leav-
ing his said widow in destitute circumstances and greatly in need of
aid; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Augusta county shall examine into the condition of
Mistress Lucy A. Walton and should it be found that the allegations
cited are true, both in regard to the service and lovalty of Richmond
T. Walton and the necd of aid for his widow, and if the county court
of Augusta county shall send a certificate of these facts to the auditor
of public accounts of Virginia, then the said auditor is directed to place
the name of Mistress Lucy Walton on the pension list and pay her
annually the sum of fifteen dollars on and after the first day of April,
nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
