Chap. 1407.—An ACT for the relief of Josiah Dodson, a Confederate soldier.

Approved March 7, 1900.

Whereas Josiah Dodson, a resident of Henry county, volunteered
from Pittsylvania county, in this state, in eighteen hundred and sixty-
one, and served in the military service of the Confederate states in
company K, thirty-eighth Virginia regiment, Virginia infantry, during
the entire war; and

Whereas the said Josiah Dodson was wounded at Malvern Hill and
Seven Pines in the hip and leg, and is now seventy-eight years of age,
and is in feeble health, and feels the effects of his wound and the
exposure during his service; and

Vhereas the said Josiah Dodson has no property of anv material
value, and has a wife and two children, and a grandchild, all females,
dependent on him for support, and is a farmer and renter of land;
therefore,

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon
proof of the foregoing facts before the county court of Henry county,
and the certificate of the same to the auditor of public accounts, the
said auditor shall place the name of the said Josiah Dodson upon the
pension roll of the state, and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dol-
lars on and after the first dav of April, nineteen hundred.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
