Chap. 1405.—An ACT for the relief of James R. Hailey, a Confederate soldier.

Whereas James &. Hailey, of Henry county, was a true and loyal
soldier of Virginia, in the military service of the Confederate states,
and was severely wounded in the leg at the battle of Malvern Hill, and
is Now sixty-seven years old, and very feeble, and poor and needy;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon
proof before the county court of Henry county of the foregoing facts,
and the certificate of the same by said court to the auditor of public
accounts, said auditor shall place the name of the said James R. Hailey
upon the pension roll, and there shall then be paid to the said James
R. Hailey annually the sum of fifteen dollars out of the treasury of
the state, upon the warrant of the auditor of public accounts, on and
after April first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
