Chap. 1399.—An ACT for the relief of Mrs. Louisa Dent, widow of William
Dent, of company I, forty-seventh Virginia volunteers, Confederate army
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas William Dent, of the county of Stafford, Virginia, served in
the war between the states as a member of company I, forty-seventh
Virginia volunteers, and was a faithful and valiant soldier; and
Whereas he has since died of discase contracted during the same,
leaving a widow (who is now living)—to wit: Louisa Dent, who is
feeble and dependent almost entirely upon herself for a support, her
oroperty consisting of about twenty acres of land and no more; there-
‘ore,
1. Be it enacted bv the general assembly of Virginia, That Mistress
“ouisa Dent, widow of the aforesaid William Dent, shall be placed upon
he pension roll of this state to receive a pension of fifteen dollars
ver year: provided, that the county court of said county shall have cer-
ified to the auditor of public accounts that the foregoing recitals are
rue. Upon the receipt of such certificate, the said auditor is directed
o place the name of Mistress Dent on the pension roll and pay her a
vension of fifteen dollars per annum.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
