Chap. 1391.—An ACT for the relief of Florentine Kasy, the widow of a
Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas W. P. A. Kasy, was a soldier in the late war between the
states, and while in the service of the state of Virginia, contracted
measles and typhoid fever, and the fever fell in his leg and caused
mortification, from the effect of which he died soon after the war, leav-
ing a widow, Florentine Kasy, who is poor and dependent; there-
fore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Patrick county shall inquire into the condition of the
said Florentine Nasy, and if the said court shall certify to the auditor
of public accounts that the said Florentine Kasy is now poor and needy,
and that her husband, W. P. A. Kasy, was a true and gallant soldier
during the war between the states, was loyal to Virginia, and died
soon after the war from the effects of disease contracted while in the
service of the state of Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts is
hereby authorized and directed to place the name of the said Florentine
Kasy, of Patrick county, upon the pension list to receive a pension
as other widows of Confederate soldiers.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
