Chap. 1386.—An ACT for relief of W. B. Kendell, a Confederate soldier, of
Rappahannock county.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas W. B. Kendell, a disabled Confederate soldier, is suffering
from total disability and blindness, and was a true and gallant soldier
during the war, and was loval to Virginia; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Rappahannock county shall examine into the condition
of the above-named W. B. Wendell, a Confederate soldier, and should
it be found that he was true and loval to Virginia through the war,
and that he is now afflicted and disabled, and incapacitated for manual
labor by reason of injurv, disease, or old age; that he is needy and poor,
and should receive aid from Virginia; and if the county court of Rap-
pahannock shall send a certificate of fact to the auditor of public ac-
counts in Virginia, then the auditor of public ‘accounts is directed
to place the name of the said W. B. Kendell on the pension list and
pay him annually the sum of fifty dollars on and after the first day
of April, nineteen hundred. |
2. This act shall be enforced from its passage.
