Chap. 1384.—An ACT for the relief of Vincent Kerns.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Vincent Kerns, a disabled Confederate soldier was a true
and gallant soldier during the late war, was loval to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disabilitvy—to wit:
Paralvsis and hypertrophy of the heart, caused by exposure during
the civil war; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the county
court of Fauquier county shall examine into the condition of the above-
mentioned Vincent Kerns, a Confederate soldier, and should it be that
he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war, and that he is
now afflicted and diseased and incapacitated for manual labor, the
result of hardships endured during the war, that he is needy and
poor and should receive aid from Virginia; and if the county court
of Fauquier county should send a certificate of the facts to the auditor
of publie accounts, then the auditor of public accounts is directed
to place the name of Vincent Kerns on the pension st and pay him
annually fifteen dollars for such total disability on and after April
first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
