Chap. 1377.—An ACT for the relief of Willie Ann Durham, widow of a
deceased Confederate soldier.

Whereas Elbert Durham, of the county of Giles, served in the late
war as a member of company I’, fourth regiment, and was a faithful
and valiant soldier and lost his arm in the service of the Confederate
states; and
Whereas the said Elbert Durham has died, leaving a widow, who is
now living, and in need of help from the state; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That Mistress
Willie Ann Durham, widow of the aforesaid Elbert Durham, shall be
placed upon the pension rolls of this state, to receive a pension of fifteen
dollars per year: provided, that the county court of said county shall
have certified to the auditor of public accounts that the foregoing re-
citals are true. Upon the receipt of such certificate the said auditor
is directed to place the name of the said Willie Ann Durham on the
pension roll and pay her a pension of fifteen dollars per annum.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
