Chap. 1368.—An ACT for the relief of P. H. Smith, a Confederate soldier.

Whereas P. H. Smith, a disabled Confederate soldier, is suffering
from wounds and rupture, and was a true and gallant soldier during
the war, and was loval to Virginia; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the county
court of Albemarle shall examine into the condition of the above-
named P. H. Smith, a Confederate soldier, and should it be found that
he was true and loval to Virginia through the war, and that he
is now afflicted and disabled, and incapacitated for manual labor
by reason of injury, disease, or vid age, that he is needy and poor, and
should receive aid from Virginia, and if the county court of Albemarle
shall send a certificate of the fact to the auditor of public accounts in
Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts is directed to place the
name of P, H. Smith on the pension list, and pay him annually the
sum of fifteen dollars, on and alter the first day of April, nineteen hun-
dred.
