Chap. 1364.—An ACT for the relief of George T. Pleasants, a disabled Confed-
erate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas George T. Pleasants, a disabled Confederate soldier, and
served three vears in the army battalion, stationed at Richmond. Vir-
eimia, under Major Ford during the late war, was a true and gallant
soldier: was loval to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now entirely disabled and suffering from the following
disalilities—to wit:
The sight of both eves being so seriously impaired that he eannot
perform manual labor, and is also afflicted with rheumatism; the
ore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That t
corporation or hustings court of the city of Manchester shall exami
into the condition of the above-named George T. Pleasants, a Co
federate soldier, and should it be that he was true and loval to V.
ginia during the war, and that he is now afflicted as above and incapa
tated for manual labor, that he is needy and poor and should recei
aid from Virginia, and if the corporation or hustings court of the ci
of Manchester should send a certificate of the facts to the auditor
public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts
directed to place the name of George T. Pleasants on the pension li
and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars on and after the fir
day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
