Chap. 1363.—An ACT for the relief of Joseph Murrow, a disabled Confederate
soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Joseph Murrow, a disabled Confederate soldier of company
D, twenty-third Virginia regiment of infantry, was a loyal soldier dur-
ing the war between the states; and
Whereas he has for years been suffering from varicose veins caused
by hard marching during the war, and is thereby rendered totally unable
to make his living bv his own labor, and is now poor and needy and
deserving aid; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon
appheation of the said Joseph Murrow, the county court of Fluvanna,
in which county the said Murrow resides, or the judge thereof in vaca-
tion, may examine into the condition of the said Murrow, and hear
evidence as to the statements above in recital made, and if they shall
appear to be true, the said court shall cause its certificate of the facts
to be entered of record, and a copy thereof certified to the auditor of
public accounts of Virginia, who shall place the name of the said
Murrow on the pension rolls and issue to him annuallv, on or after
the first day of April, his warrant on the treasurer for fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
