Chap. 1357.—An ACT for the relief of James Leftwich, a disabled soldier.

Whereas James Leftwich was a true and loval soldier in the service
of Virginia during the war between the states; and
Whereas said Leftwich is a confirmed invalid by reason of disease
contracted while in service, and is at present nearly blind; is about
seventy years old, and without any means of support; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be directed to place the name of James
Leftwich upon the pension list, and pay him the sum of fifteen dollars
per annum: provided, the facts as above alleged be first proven before
the county court of Carroll county, and certified by the judge thereof
to the audito: uf public accounts for payment.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
