Chap. 1340.—An ACT for relief of Mrs. Alzier Curtis, widow of John F. Curtis,
a Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas John F. Curtis, of King George county, was a brave and
gallant Confederate soldier in company B, forty-seventh regiment Vir-
ginia volunteers, and who, while in the dischrage of his duty in military
service during the late war between the states, was severely wounded ;

Whereas he has since died from said wound and left a widow, the
a Alzier Curtis, who is now old and in indigent circumstances; there-
ore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
said Alzier Curtis shall be permitted to prove before the county court
of King George the above facts, or any other material fact by the best
evidence obtainable, and upon such proof being adduced before said
court the said court shall certify the same to the auditor of public
accounts, who is hereby authorized and directed to place the name of
said Alzier Curtis upon the pension rolls of the state, and to draw her
warrant annually in due form of law in favor of said Alzier Curtis for
the payment of a pension of fifteen dollars per annum.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
