Chap. 1338.—An ACT for the relief of Peter Foster, a Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Peter Foster, of company C, forty-fifth Virginia regiment,
was a true and gallant soldier during the late war between the states,
from April, eighteen hundred and sixty-one, to the close of the war;
and
Whereas he was shot in the hand at Piedmont, and in the left arm
and right shoulder at Dinwiddie courthouse; and
Whereas the disability from the above wounds, old age, and general
debility, is such as to render him unable to perform manual labor;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be directed to list the said Peter Foster on
the pension list for a pension of fifteen dollars per annum: provided,
the facts herein alleged be established before the county court of Carroll,
and certified by said court to the auditor of public accounts of Vir-

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
