Chap. 1330.—An ACT for the relief of W. H. Beasley, a disabled Confederate
soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas W. H. Beasley, a disabled Confederate soldier of Virginia,
company , was a true and gallant soldier during the late war,
was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disability—to wit:
Gun shot wound in right knee causing stiffness of joint and rheuma-
tism and swelling, and the injury is such as to prevent labor without
great pain, which, together with the infirmities of advanced age, render
him unable to support himself by labor; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Spotsylvania shall examine into the condition of the
above-named W. H. Beasley, a Confederate soldier, and should it be
that he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war, and that he
is now afflicted and incapacitated for manual labor, that needy and
poor, and should receive aid from Virginia, and if the county court
of Spotsylvania should send a certificate of the facts to the auditor
of public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts is
directed to place the name of W. H. Beasley on the pension list and par
him annually the sum of fifteen dollars on and after the first day of
April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
