CHAP. 1327.—An ACT for the relief of Emanuel Irola, a disabled Confederate
soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Emanuel Irola, a disabled Confederate soldier of company
C, twenty-fourth Virginia infantry, was a true and gallant soldier dur-
ing the war between the United States and the Confederate states,
from August, eighteen hundred and sixty-one to the close of the war;
and
Whereas said Irola was afflicted with hernia while in the service,
which was caused by the hardships of the service, and that by reason
of said hernia, age, and general debility, he is no longer able to make
a living by manual labor, and being without any education there is
no avenue open to him by which he can obtain a support. as he is a
poor man and has no one to look to for support; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, directed to place the
name of Emanuel Irola on the pension list for a pension of fifteen
dollars per annum: provided, the facts herein alleged be proven before
the county court of Carroll and by that said court certified to the
auditor of public accounts of Virginia.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
