Chap. 1323.—An ACT to pension Mrs. E. A. Wallace, widow of a Confederate
soldier.

Whereas Richard H. Wallace was a brave and loyal Confederate
:oldier in the service of the state of Virginia in the war between the
:tates, and was severely wounded in the battle on Weldon railroad,
which wound rendered him an invalid and caused his death some time
after the war; and
Whereas his widow, Mistress Edna A. Wallace, is totallv destitute,
and has a large family of small children dependent on her; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Vireinia, That the
said Mistress Edna A. Wallace be allowed to prove the alleged facts
before the county court of Lunenburg for certification to the auditor
of public accounts, and if the proof is satisfactory he is to enroll her
name on the rolls as entitled to receive a pension of fifteen dollars as
widow of a Confederate soldier from April first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
