Chap. 1316.—An ACT for the relief of Giles Luger, a Confederate soldi«
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Giles Luger, a disabled Confederate soldier, was a true a1
gallant soldier during the whole war; was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disabilities:
Now poor and needy; was wounded in battle, and is greatly disabl
fur manual labor; suffering from physical disability; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That t
county court of Botetourt shall examine into the condition of the abov
named Giles Luger, a Confederate soldier; and should it be that he w
true and loyal to Virginia through the war, and that he is now afHlict
and greatly disabled, and wholly incapacitated for manual labor; th
he is needy and poor, and should receive aid from Virginia; and if t
county court of Botetourt should send a certificate of the facts to t
auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of pub
accounts is directed to place the name of Giles Luger on the pensi.
list, and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars on and after t
first day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
