Chap. 1308.—An ACT for the relief of Mrs. James E. Wightman,the widow ofa
Confederate soldier.

Whereas James I. Wightman was a Confederate soldier, being a
member of company A, eleventh Virginia regiment, and was true and
loval to his native state; and
Whereas his widow is now old and needy; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon
proofs of these facts before the city judge of Lynchburg, and his cer-
tification thereof to the auditor of the state, that the auditor be, and
he is hereby empowered and directed to place the name of Mistress
James E. Wightman upon the pension rolls of this state and pay
to her annually the sum of fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from and after April first, nineteen
hundred.
