Chap. 1299.—An ACT for the relief of A. J. Yearry, an old Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas A. J. Yearry, an old Confederate soldier of Lee county, Vir-
ginia, who entered the Confederate service early in the beginning of
the late war between the states and served as a good and faithful soldier
in the interest of his country during the war, and has since proved
faithful and true to the interest of Virginia: and
Whereas he has now become so old and feeble and destitute of means
of any kind, that he is totally unable to support himself; therefore
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That when said
A. J. Yearry shall appear before the county court of Lee county. Vir-
ginia, and make satisfactory proof by affidavit of himself and others
that the foregoing facts are true, the county court clerk shall furnish
the auditor of pubhe accounts of the state of Virginia with a certificate
to that effect, and said auditor shall place said Yearrv’s name on the
pension roll of old Confederate soldiers at a rate of fifteen dollars per
annum, which shall take effeet on the first day of April, nineteen
hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
