Chap. 1297.—An ACT for the relief of William J. Hunley, a disabled Confed-
erate soldier.

Whereas William J. Hunley, of Mathews county, was a true and
faithful Confederate soldier, was loyal to Virginia in the war between
the states, is now disabled to do manual labor because of disease, age
and affliction, is poor and needy, and is deserving of aid from Vir-
ginia: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That if the
county court of Mathews county shall examine into the condition of
the said William J. Hunley, and it appear that the facts are as herein-
before alleged, and that the said soldier is deserving of aid from Vir-
ginia; and if said court shall certify the facts to the auditor of public
accounts, thereupon the said auditor is hereby authorized and directed
to place the name of said soldier, as so certified, on the pension list and
pay him annually on and after the first day of April, nineteen hundred,
the sum of fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in foree from its passage.
