Chap. 1292.—An ACT for the relief of Thomas H. Savage, Accomac county,
Virginia, a Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Thomas H. Savage, a disabled Confederate soldier, who
was a member of company B, nineteenth Virginia battalion, Confede-
rate states army, during the civil war, and was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now old and incapacitated for manual labor; and
Whereas the said Thomas H. Savage is now very poor and needy, and
for the past years has been cared for by friends and the community,
and utterly unable to do manual labor; therefore,
1. Be it enacted bv the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Accomac county shall examine into the condition of
the above-named Thomas H. Savage, a Confederate soldier, and should
it be that he was true and loval to Virginia through the war, and that
he is afflicted and incapacitated for manual labor; that he is needy and
poor, and should receive aid from Virginia; and if the county court
of Accomac should send a certificate of the facts to the auditor of
public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts be,
and he is hereby, directed to place the name of Thomas H. Savage, of
Accomac county, on the pension roll at fifteen dollars per annum; said
pension to date from April first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
