Chap. 1288.—An ACT for the relief of Thomas H. Harris, a disabled Contfed-
erate soldier, of Wythe county.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Thomas H. Harris, a disabled Confederate soldier, was a
true and gallant soldier of company KH, fiftieth Virginia regiment, and
was loval to Virginia throuch the war; and
Whereas he is now suffering from wounds received in battle during
the late war; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the county
court of Wythe shall examine into the condition of the said Thomas H.
Harris, and should it he that he was true and loval to Virginia through
the war, and that he is now afflicted and incapacitated from manual
labor as the result of wounds received in battle; that he is needy and
poor, and should receive aid from Virginia, and if the county court of
Wvthe should send a certificate of the facts to the auditor of public
accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts is directed to
place the name of Thomas IH. Harris on the pension list, and pay him
annually the sum of fifteen dollars, on and after the firs t day of April,
nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
