Chap. 1287.—An ACT for the relief of Albert Hogwood, a disabled Confederate
soldier.

Whereas Albert Hogwood on April twenty-sixth, eighteen hundred
and sixty-one, enlisted in company E, third Virginia regiment, serving
continuously therewith until the battle of Hatcher’s run, October
twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, where he was captured
and conveyed to Point Lookout; and
Whereas by reason of said imprisonment, coupled with his advanced
aze of seventy-four vears, he is now incapacitated and unable to gain
a livelihood; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, directed to place
the name of Albert Hogwood, of Petersburg, Virginia, upon the pension
rolls, and pav to him annually the sum of fifteen dollars, upon proof of
above facts before the corporation court of Petersburg.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
