Chap. 1275.—An ACT for the relief of Job Seef, of Caroline county.
Approved March 7, 1000.
Whereas Job Seef was a Confederate soldier of Crenshaw’s battery,
Captain Ellot’s company, Pegram’s battalion, was a true and gallant
soldier, was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas the said Job Seef was wounded in the ankle in the battle
at Five Forks, and has been a great sufferer ever since; is now seventy-
five vears old, and not able to perform manual labor, and is very poor
and in needy circumstances; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the county
court of Caroline shall examine into the condition of the said Job Seef,
and should it be that he was a true and loval soldier to Virginia, and
that he is now old and afflicted, that he is needy and poor and should
receive aid from Virginia, and if county court of Caroline should
certify the above as facts to the auditor of pubhe accounts of Virginia,
then the auditor of public accounts is directed to place the name of
Job Seef on the pension list and pav him annually the sum of fifteen
dollars on and after April first. nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
