Chap. 1269.—An ACT for the relief of Mary B. Nannie, widow of a Confec
' erate soldier.

Whereas Mistress Mary B. Nannie, widow of Joseph B. Nannie,
Confederate soldier of Captain George W. Wooding’s company, Dar
ville artillery, of Virginia; and
Whereas said Nannie was a true and gallant soldier during the civ
war, was loval to Virginia; and
Whereas said widow is now sixty-eight years old, poor, and unab'
to take care of herself, and often lacks the necessities of life; therefor
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That th
county court of Chesterfield shall examine into the condition of th
above-named Mary B. Nannie, the widow of a Confederate soldier, an
should it be that said Joseph B. Nannie was true and loyal to Virginia,
through the war, and that his widow is now in need and badly inca-
pacitated for manual labor, that she is needy and poor, and should
receive aid from Virginia, and if the county court of Chestertield
county should send a certificate of the facts to the auditor of public
accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts is directed
to place the name of Mary B. Nannie on the pension list, and pay her
annually the sum of fifteen dollars, on and after the first day of April,
nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
