Chap. 1230.—An ACT for the relief of Charles C. Burks, a Confederate soldier,
of Rockbridge county.

Whereas Charles C. Burks, of Rockbridge county, was a true and loya!
soldier of Virginia in the military service of the Confederate states
served as lieutenant of company Hi, fourth Virginia regiment, and wa:
poor, and needy; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon proo:
before the county court of Rockbridge county of the foregoing facts
and the certificate of the same by said court to the auditor of publi
accounts, said auditor shall place the name of the said C. C. Burks upot
the pension roll, and there shall then be paid to the said C. C. Burk:
annually the sum of fifteen dollars out of the treasury of the state upor
the warrant of the auditor of public accounts, on and after April th
first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
