Chap. 1227.—An ACT for the relief of Isaac G. Cowan.
Approved March 7, 1900. ;
Whereas Isaac G. Cowan was a gallant Confederate soldier of Virginia,
and was a true and loval soldier during the war; and
Whereas he is now blind and of —————— years of age, and there-
fore helpless, without any means of support: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the county
court of Washington should examine into the condition of the above-
named Isaac G. Cowan, a Confederate soldier, and should it be that he
was true and loyal to Virginia during the war, and is now blind and
penniless, and that he should receive aid from Virginia, and if the
county court of Washington should send a certificate to the auditor of
public accounts of Virginia, the said auditor is directed to place the
name of Isaac G. Cowan on the pension list and pay him annually the
sum of fifteen dollars, on and after the first day of April, nineteen hun-
dred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
