Chap. 1212.—An ACT for the relief of W. Riley Estes, a Confederate soldier,
of Halifax county.

Whereas W. Riley Estes, of Halifax county, was a true and gallant
Confederate soldier, having volunteered in eighteen hundred and sixty-
one, and served under various commands through the entire war be-
tween the states; and
Whereas he is now seventy-three years old; 1s sick and not able to do
manual labor, and is poor and needy; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon
proof of the foregoing facts before the county court of Halifax county,
and the certificate of the same to the auditor of public accounts, the
said auditor shall place the name of the said W. Riley Estes upon the
pension roll of the state, and pay him annually the sum of fifteen
dollars on and after the first day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
