Chap. 1210.—An ACT for the relief of William S. Johnson, a disabled Confed-
erate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas William S. Johnson, a disabled Confederate soldier, is
suffering from old age and poverty, and was a true and gallant soldier
during the war, and was loval to Virginia; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court ‘of Albemarle shall examine into the condition of the
above-named William 8S. Johnson, a Confederate soldier; and should
it be found that he was true and loval to Virginia throuch the war,
and that he is now afflicted and disabled, and incapacitated for manual
labor, by reason of injury, disease, or old age; that he is poor and
needy, and should receive aid from Virginia; and if the county court
of Albemarle shall send a certificate of the fact to the auditor of public
accounts in Virginia, then the auditor of public accounts is directed
to place the name of William S. Johnson on the pension list, and pay
him annually the sum of fifteen dollars on and after the first day of
April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be enforced from its passage.
