Chap. 121.—An ACT to allow F. W. Lewis, A. E. Tull, R. L. Bass, and James
P. Saunders to build a pier or piers in Rappahannock river, near Whealton
wharf, in Lancaster county.

1. Be it enacted hy the general assembly of Virginia, That F. W.
Lewis, A. Tc. Tull. R. L. Bass, and James P. Saunders, or anv one of
them, be, and are hereby, authorized to erect a pier or piers in the Rap-
pahannock river, near Whealton wharf, on Piney island, between Mud
and Deep creeks, on their oyster planting grounds, for the protection of
their planted ovsters: provided, the same “will not interfere with navi-
gation in said river, and he subject to all the laws of the state governing
wharves and piers erected in the waters of the commonwealth: and pro-
vided further, that this privilege granted shall at all times be under the
control of the general assembly, and amended or repealed as may be
deemed proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
